What a lovely morning

It's cooler here today. Here it is after lunch and it's only 90. What a nice, nice thing. Not that I've been outside much. Went out to get the paper and to take a picture and that's about it. Inside, I've been sewing and reading and baking. Quite the domestic one today.

I finished this bag that got cut out a long time ago. I figured that if I didn't finish it soon, I wouldn't get to use it until next spring as it's a bit too big for a sock bag. The socks know they get their pic taken on Sunday so they hopped up on it.

And now I'm playing with some fall fabrics. Not exactly sure what they'll be yet...but right now I'm having fun just moving them around..playing with the colors. You can see some of them in the basket..dang those socks are just everywhere. *G*

And I baked some zucchini bread. Ohhh it's just yummy! I was going to put a few blackberries in it, but this was a new recipe and I figured I should do it plain first.

Later today will be The Girl's family birthday party. She turned 12 yesterday. When did that happen? It wasn't that long ago that I could hold her and feel her breath on my neck as she slept..always clutching the tag in my..or her..shirt. She's remained just as sweet as ever although she is getting a bit of an edge. Which is as it should be.

To celebrate, I think I'll take a bit of a nap.

Oh I just love zucchini bread, I put chocolate chips (not soap LOL) in mine. I love the socks!

Don't you wish you could keep them small -- and still enjoy the person she is becoming? Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Happy Days to the Birthday girl! I have two that age, and I can relate. They grow up way too fast. . .

I love your sewing machine. It's just like the one I learned to sew on. My mom still has two of them that she taught my daughters to sew with.

Great socks! And that looks just like my Featherweight.
And you did baking, too? You're busier than I am!

Your trinkets and treasures are really cool Susan, and I'm glad you are finding time to *create*

Doesn't it feel good to switch things up and try something different for awhile? It was cool here today, almost fall like. It made me feel like knitting again...maybe the quilt break helped?

LOL Cat on the soap. I don't think I'll ever forget the panic I felt! Ohhh choc chips sound yummy. I'll do that the next time. I don't really know what blackberries would have been like, I just need to use them.I know I'm going to really enjoy these socks if they EVER get done. I surely wish I knit faster

Devorah, The Girl isn't my daughter, but rather my "niece of choice". I was there when she was born and with her first cry (which took entirely too long)she crawled into my heart and has never left. If I were her mom you'd see enormous pics of her till you wish you'd never ever heard of her, but her mom doesn't want me to post any. So just imagine wonderful and funny and beautiful and way ornery at times. *G*

Kirsten, your mom has 2? Wow! Tell her to hang onto them. I once went to a Singer place to get a zipper foot for it and like to have never got out of there. They really wanted to keep it. Do your girls like to sew?

LOL Dave, I was just a real Susie Homemaker today! Had a great time doing it but it'll probably be awhile before I bake again. Amazing how that oven heated up this place.

LOL Paris...sometimes I just create a mess, but most always I'm having a good time.

Oh man...er woman..I really really want it to be cool here. I think football is helping. Just like the winter solstice gave the old ones hope that the days would become longer, football gives me hope that the weather really will get cooler *L*

Too funny about her coachin' y'all on the memories! It is VERY hard to believe this much time has passed, for sure!! It's like, just last month she was 5 going on 16! HA! :o)

PS: I have a zucchini bread recipe that calls for ground up pecans! I have never liked Z bread until I tried this one!

I'm so glad it was cooler for you. Too much hot weather seems to kill the desire to be creative. Or is that just me? *L*

Lovely socks!

LOL! I have to admit, I'm not fond of knitting wool and felting it while it's in my hands.

I love those socks. Everything else is either lovely, too, or really yummy! :)
