Dave and Cookie...Hide Your Eyes

because look what I stumbled across this morning! A calendar of knitted kitchen and bath items! You can read about it here.

I want those red heart things. What could be better for a soaky bath slut like me?

Short post because I need my phone line. It's going to be a "Grown Up Day at the Mall" with my friend Mac...and she forgot to tell me what time we're leaving. I was ready an hour ago even though 6:52 AM sounds most unlikely. AND we are going to eat lunch at someplace that is NOT fast food. Could life be anymore exciting????

Well...I screwed up and posted this on Sunday Socks. But it took me awhile to figure that out and then it was time to leave.

Obviously now I'm back home. I had so much fun. I just love helping other people spend their money! I got a few things too but the best part was getting to go to the LYS and they had restocked on the 6" bamboo needles. A couple of mine had gone to bamboo heaven but now I'm back in gear.

We went to Gordman's and Target (got 2 new Christmas cds for $1 a piece..I do love those dollar aisles) and a huge Walmart and a mall. My favorite stop at the mall was Williams-Sonoma. I didn't buy anything but I got a free catalog. It's really kind of goofy since about all I cook is oatmeal but I just love that store.

Lunch was at Panera Bread (caesar salad and broccoli cheese soup yum) and I brought home a sticky bun for a bedtime snack. Is it bedtime yet?

On the porch when I got home was my package from Barnes and Noble. Christmas gifts for The Girl and her brother aka The Guy. And since I was good, Santa (yeah right) tucked in Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns and the book Dave recommended Knitting Handbook edited by Viv Foster. They both just look super and I'm thinking I'd better wrap them up quick and get them under the tree. I figure Zoey can give me Ms. Budd's book and the kitties can give me the other one. Right? Yes, I thought so.

So what did you do today?

Ok, I didn't look.
I'm so glad you got those two books for yourself. I'm curious ot know what you think about them. The Foster book was how I learned me to knit. And the Budd book I refer to as The Bible (of knitting).
And broccoli and cheese soup is one of my favorites. Heck, I feel like I was there with you through all your fun.

Dave, oh I wish you could have been. It's fun shopping when you don't HAVE to find something..and when your shopping partner is just buying, buying. *G* And oh how I wish there was a mix for broccoli cheese soup..one of those just add water things..that could be as good as that served at Panera. I could get a baguette at Walmart (sorry we have no bakeries here) and pretend like I was somebody! *G*

I sort of scanned the books and oh my god...why did I wait so long. Well, the Foster book I just found out about but still. I'm thinking they are both going to be well used! I love the way the Foster book has a spiral binding and the Budd book has the elastic band to mark your place.

Love, Love, Love the Budd book and don't know the Foster book. I'll keep my eyes out for it.

Glad you had such a nice day -- hope today is just as good.

Sounds like a fun time...The Cesear Salad at Panera is my absolute favorite Cesear salad for a fast food type place. The dressing is just so yummy!

You sound like us - the kitties and puppies always give us something...

I don't have the Budd book - I've looked at it a couple times...and I think I am going to put it on my birthday wish list...(It's in Feb - so, I won't have too long to wait.)

Hmmm..daughter just called and wanted to know if there was anything special I wanted for Christmas - told her about the two knitting books...think one will show up under my tree :)

Devorah, I wish I'd found the Foster book a long time ago. It's very easy for me to understand (at least so far) and I have trouble learning by reading..I do much better if I can "see" what's going on. Besides instruction, it has a LOT of stitch patterns. It's a small but fat(~~6x8)little book but the illustrations are good sized. And..it's affordable! Not like one of those huge tomes that cost a car payment *G*

Hey Sara, maybe you'll get BOTH!
I'd never had the Caesar before. Usually I get soup in a bread bowl..love my carbs LOL. However this time I wanted the contrast and I'm glad I did. I've never really had anything I didn't love at Panera and you have to admit it's a step up from McDonalds LOL. Counts as "going out to eat" in my book *G*

Cat the sticky bun was very very very good! I just love them. Have tried to bake my own but I can't get it right and have no idea what's wrong. So, I'm always excited if I stop there for lunch and they have some in the case. Those $1 aisle are so much fun. I found some cute stuff for the sock at work, and a couple somethings that I thought would just be a fun hello treat for some friends. And...affordable! Yay

I haven't tried Panera Bread yet, however, since they just opened in our area, I got 3 coupons in the mail (2 for free-samples) and I plan to take advantage. I love my carbs too, and that's the main reason I haven't gone ther yet ... I will stay ... I just know it!

LOL Paris I think if you are a sandwich/soup/salad and wonderful calorie laden pastry sort of person, you'll love it.
Lucky you with the coupons. If I were closer, I'd surely help you use them!

HA! Wish you were here! I would send you the coupons (I B scared to go in there still) 'cept they are for the Fullerton store only! LOL
