Cleaning and Cats

After putting up the new light fixture and changing out the bulbs in the other one, I realized that the utility room needed some serious tidying. There were odd paint bottles in the cat food bin along with 2 hard drives (how DO you get them to disappear?)The workbench had all sorts of clutter. So under the supervision of the cats, I got busy. Dave's cat has a lovely knitted afghan in a window sill with a view. My guys prefer the workbench which is part of the reason it doesn't get used as such any more. Another reason is that in the winter, it's cold out here and in the summer it's hot! It's really a converted porch (that's about to fall in, but I try to ignore that part) and I think the insulation is quite lacking. You should see the lovely blanket that hangs over the glass doors in the winter! Oh..I'm so classy!

Ok, I have to tell you that the first photo DID freak me out a little bit. I see three cats laying still in one spot. Are they medicated? And there are saws and other things hanging on the wall. My thought was this is some sort of make-shift animal hospital.
After reading the post, it makes sense. But it scared me.
Nice paint rack.

Aww Dave, I didn't mean to scare you! LOL Susan Frankenstein. Trust me, they were just well fed and probably tired of watching me banging around.

Thanks Paris. The paintracks go back a ways. I had them when my Mom was still here and she thought they were ever so cool. LOL

Sara, uhhh I think you've been in NH! Yep, I have 3..Mary (the tortie) is 18, Hershey the street bred Siamese is almost 12 and Mercy the calico is about 11 I think. Or maybe the last 2 are older. I can't remember except that Mary arrived the same year we moved here.

I was wondering about the cats, too! How you got them all to lay in a row.

Your workspace is so sunny and neat, I really like it!:)

That is a great picture of your cat kids! Amazing considering it's cats! Love the work space. I don't have mine set up yet. (not that I'm going to knit - all of you guys do it so well, I'll leave THAT crafty notion to the REAL Knitters aka: Not Me!) LaLaLaLooveee the paint rack. How totally awesome!

Please send me a link to your Kandahar post so I can link it to my blog. Was too tired last night to dig around much and wanted to acknowledge all of you. *hugs* And THANKS for helping!!!

Laura, the trick was that while I was cleaning, there were no pillows on the work bench and I was in the way. So, to them, it was imperative that they all be right there!
Once the ladder was moved and the pillows replaced, here they came.

Sprite, and what will your work space be about? I'll send you the link as soon as I find it *G*. I'm just glad I get the chance to be a part of it.

Aw, sweet picture of your kitties! I also love the paint rack tho I thought it was a thread rack at first. Your space is so organized!

Devorah, it would work for a thread rack now. But back in the day when I got it, the dowel thingies were too long for thread. Well...they weren't but it was a lot of wasted space. It was before all those tall skinny spools came into being. Ya, it's organized now. You notice I didn't post a 'before' pic!
