Crikey!
I am so saddened by this news! I loved watching his shows and learned a lot. And I so admired his conservation efforts. I guess though, if you have to go, it's best to go doing what you love.
It was a sad moment to hear that on the news this morning. As much of a risk-taker as he was, he really did know the limits. I'd be curious to hear more about the incident with the sting ray. It's a real loss.
Dave, from all I've heard it was just a freaky thing. I heard that they are usually docile unless threatened from above. And he would know that. Just a sad accident.
Cat I know. I heard an interview with Jack Hanna on the news tonight. He'd done a special with him and said he was, in real life, just like he was on tv. Must have been a great guy to be around!

Very sad, indeed! Like you stated, he died doing what he loved, and would be the best way to go, for sure!

I truly couldn't believe this! What makes me saddest is that he has this beautiful baby girl and wife who adore him that are now left behind!
