Wow, those are pretty. What filter did you use for the top photo? And I can't believe you have such a large expanse of snow with NO footprints or tire tracks going through it.
Wow, Susan... those are great pictures. Dave mentioned filter? You use filters? (obviously Sprite knows nothing about pictures, but LOVES what you're doing)
Elabeth, would you like to be also jealous of the excitement when the vehicle fishtailed up the hill of my driveway and is now stuck in the flower bed? Yard art!
Dave, thanks! Ummm I'm not sure what a filter is. But, on my camera (Nikon Coolpix 4600) there's a setting called 'scene' and in there are options for things like fireworks, sunset, indoor party etc. I chose the one that says 'snow, beach'. It's supposed to help with glare and it really does make a difference. I really need to sit down and study the book a bit more but it's more fun to just take pics *G* And it's a pretty good sized park. Actually in good weather there are usually soccer nets set up there in that big space.
Ann, crunchy is a very apt word for it! I watched some of the guys clear the sidewalk by my office. They had some big long heavy thing and would toom the ice and it would break into giant pieces and then they could scoop them away. You don't know what toom means? It's when you hit something with a big heavy something else and it goes "TOOM!" when it hits.
Oh Paul, I hope the freezing rain isn't sticking to the lines. That stuff is scary!
Thanks Cookie! It was really kinda fun to be the only one out there, and get to see it before it got all ugly looking.
Sprite, if I use filters, it's without me knowing it. I used a snow/beach setting on my little camera and shazamm, Mother Nature did the rest. LOL
The 3rd picture could be framed and hung over your couch! I'll have to check out that setting on my camera. I think I saw beach listed on there somewhere. Beautiful! Sheri in GA - where it's still in the 70's!

Pretty! I'm jealous...all we got was boring old rain. Not even really freezy rain either. It only froze on some of the grass.
